Application: Azide Dextrose Broth is used as a preliminary test for enterococci and also for their selective enrichment, recommended by APHA.

Preparation

  • Shake the container well to homogenize the powder. Suspend 34.7 g of powder in 1 L of purified water.
  • Dispense into suitable vessels.
  • Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
  • Avoid overheating.
  • This product contains azide which is toxic. Therefore, when handling the powder, wear gloves, mask and eye protection. When washing azide products down sinks, use sufficient water to prevent accumulation of azide in the plumbing.

STORAGE:

Store dehydrated medium below 30 °C and prepared medium at 2-8 °C. The best time to use is before the expiration date printed on the product label.
