Preparation
- Add 5 mL of sterile distilled water to the G-N Anaerobe Selective Supplement vial and mix gently until the contents are completely dissolved.
- Using a filter to sterilize it.
- Under sterile conditions, add the prepared supplement to 475 mL of sterile and cooled (to 50 50°C) Wilkins-Chalgren Anaerobe Agar (i23463).
- Add 25 mL of defibrinated blood to the medium.
- Mix well and pour into sterile petri dishes.
Note
- While Wilkins-Chalgren Anaerobe Agar (i23463) is recommended for this purpose, other media such as Columbia Agar (i23045) and Blood Agar, No. 2 (i23467) are also suitable.
STORAGE:
- Keep away from light.
