Oven Bioindicator (OSC)

Application: Is used to verify the performance accuracy and ensure the sterilization of the Oven machine at a temperature of 160-180 degrees Celsius for 2 hours.

Catalogue Number: MC-1050

توضیحات

The Oven Bioindicator consists of two parts. One part contains test tubes containing discs specially covered with spores of a specific strain of Bacillus subtilis, which is used due to its high resistance to dry heat. The other part contains vials containing a rich sterilized liquid medium .

The Oven Bioindicator, along with other items that need to be sterilized, should be placed in the Oven for 2 hours at a temperature of 160-180 degrees Celsius. Then, a small amount of sterilized liquid medium is added to the tube and incubated at a temperature of 35-37 degrees Celsius for 24-48 hours. If the Oven is working properly, the bacterial spores will be eliminated, and as a result, no growth, turbidity, or color change will be observed during the incubation period in the rich culture medium. By performing these steps and checking the results of positive and negative control tests, the performance accuracy of the device and the efficiency of the sterilization process will be confirmed.

Evaluation:

To test positive control, an unsterilized bioindicator tube with a rich sterile liquid medium is placed in the incubator along with a sterilized bioindicator tube. After the incubation period, the culture medium containing the unsterilized bioindicator is expected to become completely cloudy and change color. In this case, the viability of the bioindicators can be ensured.

To test negative control, a tube containing sterile liquid culture medium without bioindicator is placed in the incubator along with a sterilized bioindicator tube. After the incubation period, the culture medium is expected to remain transparent and without color change and there should be no growth of contaminating bacteria. In this case, the sterility of the culture media can be ensured.

Important Notes:

The second part of the bioindicator (sterile liquid medium vials) should be placed at room temperature for several hours before use to ensure the transparency and health of the liquid medium, and then used. If the liquid medium is cloudy, sterilize it and then discard it.

Positive bioindicators should be sterilized again before disposal.

When using this product, please observe laboratory safety precautions.

STORAGE:

If stored at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, this product will maintain its stability until the expiration date. Bioindicators can be stored at room temperature for 1 to 2 weeks without any problems. Temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius will affect the stability of this product.
